Traditional culture has always played an important role in rural living. With the rapid modernization of rural China, local wisdom and culture are faced with challenges unprecedented in history.  In order to resurrect the relationship between traditional culture and sustainable living, PCD published a Chinese booklet titled “The Earth in Deep Thoughts” documenting good cases of community cultures revival efforts in southwestern China.  In it, you will find numerous discussions on community cultural issues relating to livelihoods, identities, and rural urban inter-dependence.
Here are some excerpts from the book:
Section 1: Reflection on Soil Improvement
Section 2: Bamboo Growing in Xinguang and extension of the Lusheng Culture
Section 3: Indigenous Quality Produce: Community Support Agriculture
