sustainability can only exist in a community context where the spirit of mutual support thrives. Set in China's context in general, and PCD's programme provinces specifically, where arable land is scarce and people are trapped in a vicious cycle of environmental degradation and poverty, diversified production and ecological sustainability surface as crucial dimensions in the attainment of sustainable livelihoods. Rural to urban migration remains a major rural livelihood strategy. But more and more migrants are planning their return and need access to more viable options.
PCD will work on the following programme foci:
- Support cooperative and inclusive practices.
- Support ecological agriculture that helps achieve food security.
- Promote sustainable living through diversified and local economy.
- Promote the re-integration of migrants into rural community living.
